PostHeaderIcon She is a growin'

She is really growing rapidly everyday! Its pretty exciting in the morning when I get up to feel how much bigger and harder my stomach is. Mary says I dont look pregnant from behind! which is awesome! But i do waddle when i walk!! :)
Its amazing to feel her move, actually watch her move. Its really awesome! I think tomorrow im going to try to get it on camera.
The last couple days ive been feeling different, Im sure its cause there is a lot changing in there as she is getting closer and closer to her arrival. Sleep is challenging, but hopefully by the time she is here ill be used to not really sleeping and getting up to feed her at night wont be such a challenge.
Her room is mostly done, we still have to get the rug that matches her bedding and I want to get and paint the letters of her name to put on the wall. But those are things that we can do when ever.
The crib is all set up and waiting for her! all of her clothes have been washed and put away.
Ive started to work on packing my hospital bag, I have a few essentials and our coming home outfits ready for us both!
Steven re-arranged out living room, so we can now use our fireplace (the tv was in front of it before) and really we have a lot more space this way....well for a few more weeks, then it will be filled with baby stuff im sure!
Im just so excited for her to get here. And so is Steven, he says he wants to play with her and he wants her here now!
He loves to lay his head on my belly at night.....and then she kicks him! its really cute!

PostHeaderIcon Breast milk ice cream? WTF?

warning...this is a rant!

OK so I heard today on the news that PETA is trying to urge Ben & Jerry's to use breast milk to make there ice cream. THIS IS RIDICULOUS and it makes me mad.

First of all, they say they are doing it because they feel that dairy cows are treated bad. BLAH BLAH BLAH.

OK so let me get this straight you(Peta) feel that its inhumane to keep impregnating cows every how ever often they do so that they can keep producing milk, which has MANY uses aside from ice cream, and provides immense nutrition value to our children and ourselves. And for some reason you think there is an abundance of breast milk flowing that we should just use that.
THAT IS WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS.

I feel that if you are able to breastfeed your child you should. Yeah its going to suck (ha ha) and hurt and be a pain when you go back to work having to pump and all, but all the nutritional benefits your child receives are so worth it and it helps your body heal after birth a lot faster. And I'm definitely planning on breastfeeding Savanna and any other children we have.

here are my reasons i feel this idea is soooo flawed and Not thought threw.

Where is this milk going to come from?
-the ice cream maker is obviously going to have to have a huge number of women willing and able to give up there breast milk. Obviously if they are making money off it, then the women who are providing the milk are going to want to get paid. Which is then going to cause MANY women that should not for many reasons be getting pregnant because they think "hey ill be able to afford my baby, Ben & Jerry's is gonna buy my milk" as they sit there collecting welfare and and whatever else they can.
I know that is a really broad judgement on women, and a huge assumption to they type of people I think this will appeal to.

but this is why i think that.

If you have a child and you produce more milk than your child can consume before it spoils, first off you should thank your lucky stars or for some reason your child cant use your breast milk for whatever reason wouldn't you rather DONATE that milk to your local hospital NICU, or a breast milk bank that distributes this milk to hospitals and sick children that really really NEED the breast milk for its intended purpose and nutritional values? I really feel that selling something that is really priceless is going to be something only very lower class people are going to do. Because they NEED the money.

In the end its going to cause huge problems. and really how HUMANE is it to cause ( i said cause not force) women to have children that they don't want or cant afford so that some company can make money selling breast milk ice cream.

and in all honesty.... Would you really eat ice cream that was made with breast milk? I sure as hell wouldn't.

as much as I love ben and Jerrys and there coffee heath bar crunch ice cream if it were made with breast milk, i would NEVER buy it. ever.

PostHeaderIcon I have a cold!

BLAH. Miss brynn was sick last week and now i have her cold. Im all congested and just feel yucky. But im reading a great book called TWILIGHT. im not a huge reader but this one is really just a great one its hard to put down! Its a series and I cant wait to read them all!
Savanna is doing great, were 34 weeks and 2 days. She is definitly starting to grow! were getting bigger by the day! I still have only gained 3 lbs so far in my pregnancy. This excites me as my dr assures me that Savanna is growing right on track! She is expected to be about a 7 lb baby!

Last weekend was my baby shower, and it turned out to be great! even though we were definitly missing a key person.....but i guess a broken foot is reason enough to stay home! Our family and friends showered us with so many great things for Savanna. We have pretty much all the "necessities" as of now, so were ready for her (I hope))! I spent the weekend writing out all my thank you cards and hope to have them all in the mail by tuesday!

I spent the week setting up her room, and washing all her clothes and blankets. Steven built her crib and changing table. Our little kitty found that he has a new favorite place to lay....In the crib...I wish I would have gotten a picture of him all aprawled out in there before I chased him away, I have put a ton of baby things in there that are still in boxes so that its not an inviting and confortable place for him. As i do not want him to get in the habit of gettng in the crib or he will fast become and outside kitty!
Not much else is new here....just counting down the days till little miss banana gets here! I want so badly to know what she looks like its driving me crazy!

PostHeaderIcon Dr. Appt today

So I'm 32 weeks pregnant today! had my regular appointment, my Dr decided that she wants to keep me off work until after Savanna comes. I need to take it easy, keep my stress low. Which will be easier to do once my disability starts coming in.

I'm sure its best for me to be off, but I'm going crazy i need a hobby.

She said that my uterus s growing right on track and that Savanna is probably about 3 lbs, she is head down and has a very strong heartbeat. I love getting to hear her little heartbeat.

well that is about it for today...Steven is off so i actually have adult interaction today...its a nice change of pace, its super hot here so were pretty much laying around in front of the fans....Not too exciting!
