PostHeaderIcon Creatures......

Do you ever wonder who the first people were that decided that it would be a good idea to let creatures come in there house and live?
I wonder this quite often.

I have had several creatures in my lifetime. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of all of them in my computer to show you.

The first creature I remember having, Was Lady. Lady was a pit bull, and was quite possibly the best dog I have ever had. She belonged to my step dad when he met my mom, But quickly became attached to me. She slept at the foot of my bed, and when awake rarely left my side. She was tragically hit by a car on mothers day because someone left our gate open and she got out in the middle of the night. The people just left her in our driveway.....it was the first time I ever saw my step dad cry.

My second Creature was all mine. She was my gift from my parents on my 4th birthday. Her name was Sneaker, she was a beautiful Calico Cat. She loved to sleep on my pillow and ninnie on my hair and drool. She was tragically killed 4 or 5 years later on 4th of July-by my mom. Not intentionally, but she felt at fault. Sneaker somehow got into the dryer, and when we came home late from fireworks my mom threw the laundry into the dryer and turned it on. thinking nothing of the loud thump that came from the dryer as she was washing my brothers shoes.
In the morning she opened the dryer to find a horrible site of blood and a stiff cat. My parents were going to tell me that she ran away but my little brother overheard them and came running into my room jumping on my bed screaming "sneakers dead, sneakers dead!"

Someone tried to give me a cat to replace her, I guess they thought it would make me feel better. But I didn't like it, so i let it out and it ran away. OOPS.

we had some other animals, rabbits, chickens, dogs, but I never got really attached to them.
I finally got another cat when i was 17, a calico, and named her Gracie. She too loved to sleep on my pillow and ninny on my hair. I wonder if that is a calico trait?
When I was 19 I got into a car crash and when we were heading home from the hospital we saw these tiny kittens at a grocery store, I told my mom it would make me feel better, so she let me get one.
Then I moved out, where I couldn't have animals, so my cats stayed at my moms where they still live today, only they seem to like my moms neighbor better so they spend most of there time there. He buys them treats!

Then I got muppett, My little shih-tzu, who apparently liked my mom better than me, so she lives at my moms.

And we have chomper.......he likes to lick Stevens face and sleep under the blankets and lay in the sun. That is pretty much all he is good for. but he is cute.

And our latest addition Evil Kitty. Someone brought him into Stevens work when he was only a few days old. We took him so he wasn't killed, and bottle fed him.....he is mean and evil, likes to scratch and bite....unless HE is feeling love able......and he likes it when you watch him eat.

Well, those are all my creature stories. i still don't know why we feel we need to let creatures live in our homes.

Good stories. Ok, I almost cried about the cat in dryer though.

My first cat was Cammy, named after the chick on Street Fighter, and she currently lives with mom. I have offered and offered to take her to my house, but mom thinks its "mean" to make her an outside cat. So at moms house she stays.

Then I have Toby. He is huge and we have a love-hate relationship. He was my baby in college but then when I got knocked up he got demoted back to cat. He has never forgiven me. Ah well.
